Managing Volunteers and Service Projects

HandsOn New Orleans recruits and deploys 5,000-6,000 volunteers annually to complete high-impact community service projects in the Greater New Orleans area.  Here how our team of two full time professionals, supported by 6 AmeriCorps members, completes 40-52 projects per year by using project management techniques that include:

• Advance project management steps
• Pre-project preparation
• Managing volunteers on site
• Post project support and impact

About the Presenter:

Chris Cameron began as the Executive Director of HandsOn New Orleans in November of 2012.  Prior to joining the organization, Chris spent 20 years in higher education at Loyola University New Orleans and Dillard University, wherein he served as chief administrative officer for comprehensive student leadership development programs, business services, and facility operations.

Chris received his B.A. in International Relations and Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia, and his Master of Education from University of South Carolina.  What Chris enjoys most about his work is the ability to positively impact the community through volunteer efforts.

• $30 - Pre-registered and Pre-paid PMI GNO members
• $35 - Pre-registered and Pre-paid Non-Members
• $35 - PMI GNO Members -cash only- at the door
• $40 - Non-members -cash only- at the door
• $20 - Student Rate -cash only- at the door
• $10 - Program only -cash only- at the door

PLEASE NOTE: We will only accept cash or check at check in.  Credit cards will not be accepted at the door.

Cancellation Policy: Full credit can be applied ONLY to the next scheduled Chapter Meeting upon notification to membership@pmigno.org within 24 hours of the meeting.
