Non-Profit Outreach

Non-Profit Outreach

The purpose of the non-profit outreach program for the PMI GNO chapter is to utilize the talents of chapter membership to assist non-profit organizations in the Greater New Orleans area in the successful completion of projects, programs and initiatives that add value to their organizations.

This program provides two key advantages:

  • For the volunteer - it provides an opportunity to “give back” to the community and earn PDU’s by using their talents in project management best practices to assist organizations that cannot afford to hire or train experienced project management talent.
  • For the non-profit - it provides project management talent at no cost to consult and educate non-profit employees and volunteers in the application of project and program management principles and practices to successfully complete strategic initiatives using proven methods that have been applied successfully in larger corporate environments.
Non-profit Outreach Volunteer Opportunities
The PMIGNO Chapter is in the planning stages for a non-profit outreach event to be held by the end of the first quarter.  This outreach effort is described in more detail on our Non-Profit Outreach page   Right now, we are asking for two things from our members:
  • If you are interested in helping to facilitate this event and possibly work with local non-profits in applying project management best practices, please apply through the Volunteer Relationship Management (VRMS) at VRMS.pmi.org.  Select opportunity #16171, PMIGNO Non-Profit Outreach Facilitator.  Or, you can email us at npoutreach.org if you have any questions.  Instructions on using VRMS can be found under the VRMS Guides menu item on the Volunteer home page.
  • If you know of any non-profits that may be interested in learning more about project management skills, contact us at npoutreach@pmigno.org.
