Linkedi n: Strategies for Elevating Your Career
Christi Felder, a recent PMP and Technical Account Manager, Microsoft Corporation, will present: “LinkedIn: Strategies for Elevating Your Career", where she will discuss leveraging the tools within LinkedIn to craft your professional story and project your personal brand in meaningful ways that get you noticed and connected.
A New Orleans native, Christi Felder earned the Distinguished Toastmaster award in 2001– the highest honor awarded within the Toastmasters organization– for excellence in leadership and communication as one of its youngest recipients. Christi graduated in 2006 with honors from the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing while working full-time as Director of Innovative Marketing for Alexander & Hamilton, a Metairie based debt recovery firm.
After experiencing the total loss of her home during Katrina and moving to Baton Rouge, Christi made it her mission to help businesses better capture, manage, and protect critical information as Account Executive for Ricoh, USA, where she quickly came to love the art and science of managing complex IT projects.
In 2013 she moved back to New Orleans where she was promoted at Ricoh as Major Account Executive to serve enterprise customers in the healthcare, higher education and commercial sectors. In 2016 she leveraged LinkedIn to research and connect with top employers, which opened doors that led to her current position as a Technical Account Manager within Microsoft. She continues to leverage LinkedIn to learn about and stay in touch with current and potential clients.
In 2014, Christi was instrumental in bringing back the American Business Women's Association (ABWA) to New Orleans following a 9-year post-Katrina absence, where she currently serves as President-Elect and board member. Christi actively participates in fundraisers to benefit local scholars and enjoys mentoring others to help them develop strategies for being successful in their professional lives. She is currently working towards her PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) Certification and is excited to a part of PMI New Orleans chapter.
