CPT Christopher S. Ren, PMP
Captain Christopher S. Ren
Capt. Ren is a Program Manager at the New Orleans District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineer, assisting the branch chief in portfolio and budget management of one of the largest civil works programs in the Corps at over $700 million annually. The New Orleans District includes 2,800 miles of navigable waterways – including five of the top fifteen ports in the nation, 1,300 miles of levees and floodwalls, 11 navigation locks, six major flood control structures, and other projects designed to create and protect coastal wetlands, provide ecosystem restoration, and hurricane and storm damage risk reduction.
Capt. Ren was commissioned in the U.S. Army as an engineer officer in May 2007 from Stetson University and most recently served as an Observer, Coach, Trainer at the Joint Readiness Training Center in Fort Polk, LA. Prior to that assignment, he was the Company Commander of C Co, Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Armored Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, GA.
His previous assignments including serving in both combat and construction engineer officer positions, and a variety of special staff positions, from Platoon Leader through Company Commander, including the U.S. Army Pacific Command Headquarters, Fort Shafter, HI; the 84th Engineer Construction Battalion, Schofield Barracks, HI; and Combined Joint Task Force Paladin and Combined Team Uruzgan, Afghanistan.
Capt. Ren earned his Master’s in Public Administration from Webster University, St. Louis, MO, and is a graduate of the Engineer Captain’s Career Course, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Joint Humanitarian Operations Course, Post Blast Investigation Techniques, Search and Tactical Site Exploitation, and Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt program. His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Serve Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and the Combat Action Badge.
A native of Daytona Beach, FL, Capt. Ren is married to Allison of Jacksonville, FL and together have a son, Kylo.
