PROGRAM:
Tailored to Fit: The Lean Project Management Office
In a dynamic environment such as healthcare, a one-size fits all approach to project management
does not maximize value or result in meaningful change. Project Managers and their teams can
benefit from an iterative approach using tailoring as there is no “best” approach for all projects.
Since its inception in 2014, the Lean Project Management Office (PMO) at Our Lady of the Lake
(OLOL) has applied an adaptive mindset to projects that is customer focused (most frequently the
patient!). We will look at how the Lean PMO at OLOL was developed, its project selection and
prioritization processes, and how tailoring is used through specific project examples.
